How the numbers work
- Each team gets an attack and a defence rating from its goals scored and conceded, compared with the league average and adjusted for the strength of the teams it played.
- Recent matches count more than older ones, and every team starts the season close to average, so early predictions stay cautious.
- A team gets a small boost only on its own home pitch (not on a ground both teams share). Forfeits are left out.
- Each prediction only uses matches played before it, so the record above is fair. The fans' call is the most-picked result (at least 3 picks).
